With the bachelor party festivities over with (finally!), I retreated to the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans for one night before my flight. The rate was just too low to pass up, and with my $100 resort credit and free breakfast from a timeshare ownership rate, the stay had a lot of benefits included!
Ritz-Carlton New Orleans Review
One thing I loathe about Ritz-Carltons is the lack of elite recognition for Marriott Platinums. There’s no free breakfast, no automatic suite upgrades, and no club lounge access. Instead, you’ll receive 1,000 points at check in and hopefully an upgrade. When I found a rate for $130, including breakfast and a $100 resort credit, I jumped at it immediately! The MegaBonus promotion adding 2,000 Marriott points to my account for my stay didn’t hurt either.
I took an Uber to the hotel, and entered the arrival lobby. A short elevator trip upstairs was where I found the check-in desk. They noted my special occasion coming up (I was celebrating a birthday), and upgraded me to a suite! I will say that Ritz-Carltons have been fabulous about recognizing special occasions.
The room was pretty massive, though not the largest suite I ever stayed in. The room featured lots of “old world” appointments that felt perfectly in place in New Orleans.
The living room.
The bathroom, which was gigantic.
Here was my welcome card.
The gave me a nice welcome gift of three local beers, and some fruit and nuts as well.
Food and Drink
Wanting to use my credit, I ordered down for some room service. The burger was perfectly seasoned.
Later, for dinner, I ordered some chicken noodle soup and dessert. Both amazing.
In the morning, I had breakfast at the M Bistro, which had a fantastic buffet. I loved the fresh-squeezed watermelon.
The hotel does feature a spa as well as a gym, but I didn’t get a chance to visit them on this trip. I did love how the hotel left out waters for morning joggers at the entrance, though.
A fabulous stay at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, and cannot wait to return in the future.
