Seminole Hard Rock Review: A Full Tour of the Guitar Hotel
I checked into the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood on a casino rate through my player status with Celebrity, which is the main reason I stay at a non-points property like this for a quick one-night visit. The perks are good, and the location is hard to beat the night before a cruise, since it's a short drive from Fort Lauderdale's port and airport. That makes it one of the better pre-cruise hotels in South Florida, and after walking the property I was genuinely impressed with how much resort is packed in here.
Walking into the lobby felt like stepping into a high-end Vegas resort, with water features everywhere, which I always love. This is my review and full tour of the Hard Rock Hollywood, including the Guitar Hotel rooms, the pools, the dining led by Council Oak, the casino, and who I think the property is really for.

If you follow my YouTube channel, you know I tour every property I stay at. Here's my full walk around the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood and the Guitar Hotel.
Hard Rock Hollywood at a Glance
First Impressions and the Lobby
The first impression is a strong one. The lobby feels like a high-end resort, very Vegas, with water features around nearly every corner. One of them is a waterfall that pours in from the ceiling, and that kind of detail sets the tone for the whole property. I've stayed at a few Hard Rocks over the years, mainly the one in Orlando and the old Las Vegas property, and this one leans into the brand in all the right ways without feeling like a theme.
I'm staying in the Guitar Hotel, the guitar-shaped tower that put this place on the map. It's such a landmark that if you hop in a taxi and say "the Guitar Hotel," the driver knows exactly where to go.
The Room (Guitar Hotel, Pool View)
My room was a pool-view room in the Guitar Tower, and it was nicer than I expected. There's a lot of marble, the kind of finish I'd expect from a Vegas casino, which makes sense for an upscale casino resort in Florida. The bathroom is oversized, and there are sliding doors between the bedroom and bath. I usually don't love that setup, but there was plenty of privacy here and it adds a little fun to the room.
The king bed was very comfortable, and the room felt bigger than a standard hotel room. They also included more than I expected, with robes, and a coffee maker, which is not a given at a casino resort. Little touches like that pushed it up a notch for me.
The Pools
There are two full pool complexes here, one for each tower, and they have different personalities. The Guitar Hotel pool is the showpiece. It's a big complex with VIP cabanas that have their own private or semi-private pools, available as a comp if you're playing in the casino or to rent outright. The furthest pool out is more of a lagoon, where you can rent paddleboards and kayaks, and the closest one has a waterfall feature you walk under to reach the base of the tower. There's also a beach-style pool with actual sand near the edge, plus a beach club bar and a fine-dining restaurant out by the tower.
Over on the Oasis Tower side, the original pool has a more lived-in, tropical feel, and that's not a knock. It's the more family-friendly of the two, with a waterslide that runs from the top down into the pool, and its own pool bar serving food and drinks. Kuro, the resort's Japanese restaurant, overlooks this pool with a nice patio if you want sushi and some fresh air. It is a real walk between the two sides, so pick your home base based on the tower you book.
Dining: Council Oak and Beyond
The dining lineup is deep, as you'd expect from a Vegas-style casino resort. Council Oak is the fanciest steakhouse on property, and it's where you go for the traditional steakhouse experience. I had dinner there and the food was excellent. If you're booking one nice meal during your stay, that's the one.
Beyond Council Oak, Kuro handles Japanese and sushi by the Oasis pool, Cipresso is the Italian restaurant set next to one of the prettiest water features on property, and Abiaka is the wood fire grill. For more casual options, Fresh Harvest is the big Vegas-style buffet, Constant Grind is the coffee shop (there's one on each side, so you don't have to cross the resort for a morning coffee), and there's a food court with a taco stand that made a great made-to-order snack after my flight. Bay Korean Grill covers Korean barbecue, and there are grab-and-go coffee and snack spots tucked along the hallways.
The one I'd flag for late-night travelers is Rise, a 24-hour restaurant near the casino. So many high-end restaurants close by 10 or 11 these days, so having a real around-the-clock option is great if you're coming off the casino floor or landing late from another time zone. You can grab food to take back to the room, too.
The Casino, the Bars, and Entertainment
The casino floor is loaded with rock-and-roll memorabilia, so take a lap and see if one of your favorite artists' guitars or stage outfits is on display. There's a Players Club desk, a Hard Rock gift shop for the t-shirt collectors, and several bars sprinkled throughout the casino, including a few really nice ones.
For nightlife, the DAER nightclub and day club is the big draw, with the nightclub running on weekends and the day club up the escalators. There's also live music in the Guitar Hotel lobby lounge in the evenings, which is exactly what you'd hope for at a Hard Rock. One smart detail: each tower has its own check-in area, so you're not dragging luggage across the resort. I checked in on the app without ever visiting the front desk, and it worked flawlessly. Just pay attention to which tower you booked.
The Guitar Hotel and the Grounds
Seeing the Guitar Hotel from the base of the tower is worth the walk. The shape is wild, and there's a nightly light show on the exterior LEDs that I unfortunately missed because of the weather, but it's a signature of the property. At the base you'll find a beach club bar on the lower level and a fine-dining restaurant above it, reached by two stories of walkways, plus that beach-style pool with sand.
The grounds surprised me most. There are palm trees grown in unexpected places and the landscaping feels lush and tropical. A newly opened shopping promenade adds smaller shops and restaurants, so there's even more to do without leaving the property.
A Great Pre-Cruise Hotel for Fort Lauderdale
The reason I was here in the first place is the location. The Hard Rock Hollywood sits a short drive from Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades and the airport, which makes it a smart pre-cruise night, especially if you can get a casino rate like I did. You get a resort-quality stay, plenty of dining, and an easy morning transfer to the ship. If you're sailing out of Fort Lauderdale, this pairs nicely with a cruise like the Celebrity Ascent, which homeports right there.
