The resort sits on 35 acres along the historic Seawall Boulevard, with the Gulf of Mexico and the beach directly across the street. It is right next to the Galveston Island Convention Center and within a short walk of the fishing pier, so you are planted in the middle of the classic Galveston beach strip. For a pre-cruise stay this is close to ideal. Fun neighborhood notes: the island’s convention center sits directly across the street, the San Luis Resort down the block is a sister property under the same Fertitta ownership, and the Rainforest Cafe next door has an actual indoor river raft ride, which I never expected to type in a hotel review. The beach is just across the seawall road, and Guido’s, serving Galveston since 1911, made a great dinner the night before our cruise.

The pool has a swim-up bar plus a little island of dry seating in the middle, and the grounds surprised me, with small ponds and manicured gardens tucked around the property. One modern-resort quirk: pool towels check out with your room key and carry RFID chips, so do not plan on one coming home as a souvenir.
Beyond the pools you have direct beach access across the street, a fitness center for anyone keeping a routine, and EV charging if you drove down in something electric. The beach here is the standard Galveston Gulf beach, so temper expectations if you are used to Caribbean sand, but for a Texas beach day it does the job.
Food and Drink
There is an on-site restaurant and room service, which is handy when you arrive late and do not feel like going anywhere. The swim-up pool bar is the fun spot, and it is where I spent most of my drink budget. Prices are what you would expect at a beach resort, so nothing shocking but not bargain territory either. As a Hilton Diamond, courtesy of the Aspire card, I got a 15 dollar per person daily food credit, and my avocado toast plus a drink at the lobby breakfast restaurant came out to almost exactly that number.
Because you are right on the Seawall, you also have a huge range of restaurants within a short walk or quick drive. Galveston has some excellent seafood spots, and I would rather explore those than eat every meal at the hotel. My move is one relaxed dinner out on the Seawall the night before boarding, then breakfast at the hotel in the morning.

Service was the standout for me on this stay. The team here clearly takes pride in the place, and they handle the constant flow of cruise guests with patience and good humor. Small things like clear directions to the terminal and quick help at the desk added up to a smooth, low-stress night.
