Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek Review: Is This Orlando Resort Worth It?
If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, there’s a moment where you have to decide how you want to do it.
You can stay fully inside the Disney bubble and pay for the convenience and perks, or you can step just outside of it and try to get more value out of your hotel. More space, better amenities, and in some cases, a more relaxing experience when the parks start to feel overwhelming.
On my most recent trip to Orlando, I stayed at the Signia by Hilton Bonnet Creek for a conference, after about 5 years since our last stay. This hotel is a decent option for Hilton points, but here’s how it actually stacks up.
Right below is my full video walkthrough of the property, including the room, the pools, the restaurants, and the overall experience we had. If you want the full tour, it’s worth watching before diving into the details.
Location That Changes the Equation
The biggest strength of this property is simple, it’s located right next to Walt Disney World. While you may think this resort is on Disney property, it’s actually a part of the Bonnet Creek development. While you enter WDW to access it, it’s separately owned.
Still, getting to Epcot or Hollywood Studios takes just a few minutes, and rideshare costs are minimal compared to staying further out in Orlando.
That might not sound like a big deal on paper, but if you’ve ever stayed 20 or 30 minutes away from the parks, you know how quickly that distance starts to wear on you.
So, at the Signia by Hilton Bonnet Creek, you’re not sacrificing location to save money. And, you’ll earn all of your Hilton points and elite nights for doing so.
Booking Strategy: Where This Gets Interesting
This is where the property really starts to make sense for a points-focused traveler.
Hilton pricing in Orlando can be all over the place, it being a convention hotel, but this hotel tends to land in a range where the value starts to click. Especially when Disney Deluxe resorts are priced at a premium, this becomes a very compelling reason to consider the Signia.
If you’re using Hilton points, stacking a fifth-night-free stay, or applying a credit card benefit like a resort credit or statement credit (or a free night certificate from your Aspire credit card), you can start to bring the effective nightly cost down in a meaningful way.
If you’ve been following the recent changes to Hyatt or thinking about diversifying where you earn and burn points, this is exactly the kind of property that makes Hilton worth another look.
How Hilton Gold and Diamond Status Actually Helps Here
This is one of those hotels where Hilton status is not just a nice bonus. It actually matters.
Gold members receive a daily food and beverage credit ($15 per person, $30 total if there are two or more), which sounds minor at first but adds up quickly over a few nights. If you use it strategically, you can offset a decent portion of your food spend without going out of your way. We used ours at the grab-and-go Muse each morning, and it didn’t take us very far beyond a croissant and coffee.
Diamond members get a little more leverage. Upgrades are never guaranteed, but this is the type of property where better views or improved room placement do happen depending on availability.
The real value comes from stacking everything together. Points redemptions, elite benefits, and credits. Individually, none of them completely changes the experience. Together, they shift the math in your favor, and make the tradeoff of the resort’s transportation to the parks possibly worth it.
First Impressions and Overall Feel
There’s no way around it. This is a large resort.
It handles conferences, events, and a high volume of guests. That usually leads to a more transactional experience, but here it feels more controlled than expected.
The lobby is modern, the check-in process is smooth, and the property feels well maintained. It’s not trying to compete with boutique luxury hotels, but it doesn’t feel dated or worn down either. It’s been refreshed since our last stay in 2021.
It’s a place that knows what it is and executes it well.
The Room Experience
The room itself is exactly what you would expect from a higher-end Hilton.
Clean, comfortable, and functional. The kind of room you don’t think about too much, which is usually a good thing.
After a long day in the parks, you’re not looking for design statements. You’re looking for a place that’s quiet, easy to settle into, and consistent.
This checks all of those boxes.
The Pool and Lazy River
This is where the hotel really starts to separate itself.
The pool complex is one of the best in the Orlando area, and the lazy river is the centerpiece. It’s large, easy to access, and actually feels like something you want to spend time doing rather than just something you check out once. We loved having a zero-entry option for our small child to play in as well.
Bonus points for the free inner tubes floating by for use.
There’s enough space that it doesn’t feel overly crowded, even during busier times, and the layout makes it easy to relax for a full afternoon.
If you’re traveling with family, this is probably the biggest selling point of the property. If you’re not, it’s still one of the few places near Disney where you can actually slow down for a bit.
Access to the Waldorf Astoria
One of the more underrated aspects of staying here is the connection to the Waldorf Astoria next door.
You can walk over, explore the grounds, and take advantage of additional dining options, like the excellent Bull and Bear. It gives you access to a more upscale environment without paying Waldorf pricing, which is a nice middle ground to have.
It’s not something that gets highlighted often, but it adds flexibility to your stay.
The Disney Tradeoff
This is where you have to be honest about how you travel.
You’re not getting the full Disney experience here. Transportation is not as seamless as the on-property bus service Disney operates, and you’re not fully immersed in the Disney environment. You’re reliant on a bus schedule that can get you to the parks around early entry, which is a perk of staying here. However, getting back from the parks became a bit stressful, since there just aren’t enough buses to go around.
Often, we’d have to stop at multiple parks to get back to the hotel. At least the buses and bus drivers were excellent.
For a lot of people, especially those who have already done Disney resorts before, taking a rideshare in the morning is the way to go.
Final Thoughts
The Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek sits in a very interesting position.
It’s not trying to replace Disney, and it’s not trying to be the most luxurious hotel in Orlando. What it does well is offer a strong balance between location, comfort, and value.
When you start layering in Hilton status, points, and credit card benefits, it becomes even more compelling.
This is the kind of hotel that doesn’t always get the most attention, but once you stay here, it changes how you think about future Disney trips.
And for a lot of travelers, that’s where the real value is.
