Is Disney Cruise Line Concierge Worth It?
Disney Cruise Line Concierge is worth it for families who care most about two things: getting first pick of the activities that sell out, and having a quiet place to retreat on a ship full of children. The cabins are larger and the service is more personal, but the booking head start and the private lounge and sundeck are what you are really paying for.
It is harder to justify if you plan to spend your days in the kids' clubs, at the pools, and ashore. Disney's standard verandah staterooms are already roomy by cruise standards, and the Concierge premium is a big jump over them. I price both versions for Disney clients, and the answer usually comes down to how much the booking window is worth to that family.

What Disney Cruise Concierge Includes Before You Sail
The benefit that changes a Disney cruise the most happens months before boarding. Disney opens activity booking in tiers. First-time guests can book 75 days before the sail date. Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Pearl Castaway Club members book at 90, 105, 120, and 123 days. Concierge guests can send their requests to the shoreside Concierge team starting 130 days out, and the team places those bookings when the online window opens at 123 days, in the order the requests came in.
On a popular sailing, that head start decides who gets the cabanas at Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, the early brunch at Palo, the princess tea, and the best nursery slots. A first-time Disney cruiser in a regular stateroom is choosing from what is left 48 days after the Concierge bookings go in. My guide to the Castaway Club loyalty program explains how the other tiers work.
Disney's Concierge agents also handle Port Adventures, adult-exclusive dining, spa appointments, nursery reservations, dining room seating requests, and celebrations. You tell them what you want and they build the schedule.
Pro Tip: Send your Concierge wish list on day 130, ranked in priority order. Requests are processed in the order received, so the family that emails at 129 days is behind the family that emailed at 130. For clients who book Concierge through me, I put day 130 on my own calendar too and help build the ranked list.
What Disney Cruise Concierge Includes on the Ship
Boarding day starts at a dedicated check-in station with priority boarding. The onboard Concierge team meets guests at a private welcome reception and stays available all week for dining changes, spa bookings, itinerary updates, and special requests. On tender ports, Concierge guests get priority tendering.
The Concierge Lounge is the center of the program. Disney describes it as a quiet space with complimentary food and nonalcoholic drinks through the day and cocktails during select hours. From the lounge, guests reach a private outdoor sundeck. On the Disney Adventure, which sails from Singapore, Disney lists a Concierge sundeck on Deck 19 with six whirlpools. The Wish-class ships (Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny) have a lounge and sundeck of their own, and the older ships have smaller versions.
In the room, Concierge adds down duvets in the main bedroom, robes and slippers, and Basic Surf Wi-Fi for one device per guest. Suite guests also choose from a pillow menu.
Disney Cruise Concierge Staterooms and Suites
Concierge covers a range of room types, and the entry level is closer to a regular stateroom than most people expect. On Disney Treasure, Disney lists three main groups:
- Concierge Oceanview and Verandah Staterooms: up to 5 guests, 296 to 525 square feet.
- Concierge 1-Bedroom Suites with Verandah: up to 5 guests, up to 1,031 square feet including the balcony.
- Concierge 1- and 2-Story Royal Suites with Verandah: the split-level suites at the top of the range.
Wish-class ships also have a tower suite built into the forward funnel. On the older Dream-class ships, the entry room is the Concierge Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, which sleeps 5 in 306 square feet. My Disney ships by size guide shows how the classes differ, and my Disney Wish review covers the ship class with the newest Concierge layout.
The entry Concierge stateroom gets every Concierge benefit. If the lounge, the sundeck, and the 130-day window are your reasons for booking, the smallest Concierge room delivers all three. Paying more for a 1-Bedroom Suite buys space and a separate bedroom. My balcony versus suite comparison walks through when the extra square footage earns its price.
What Disney Cruise Concierge Does Not Include
Concierge is a service and access upgrade. The fare still covers the same things it covers for everyone else, which I list in my guide to what is included on Disney Cruise Line. Adult-exclusive dining, spa treatments, Port Adventures, and nursery time still cost extra. Alcohol outside the lounge's cocktail hours is still charged by the drink, and Disney does not sell an unlimited package, as my Disney drink package guide explains. Gratuities are separate too, and any extra tip for the lounge team is up to you.
The included Wi-Fi is the basic tier for one device per guest. Streaming and video calls need a paid upgrade.
What Disney Cruise Concierge Costs
Disney does not publish a Concierge surcharge. Each Concierge category has its own fare, and the gap over a standard verandah changes with the ship, the season, and how early you book. In the quotes I run, the gap is widest on holiday sailings and on the newest ships. My Disney cruise cost breakdown covers the base fares.
Concierge rooms are a small share of each ship, and they sell out first. Disney opens bookings to Castaway Club members before the general public, so the best Concierge categories on a new itinerary can be gone within days. My pricing matches Disney's, and I can hold a Concierge room the morning a sailing opens.
When Disney Cruise Concierge Is Worth the Money
- A first Disney cruise on a sold-out sailing. A first-time guest books activities at 75 days. Concierge moves that to 130.
- A trip built around one or two hard-to-get bookings. Private island cabanas and adult dining brunches are the usual examples.
- A multigenerational group. Grandparents get a quiet lounge, and the Concierge team coordinates dining and excursions across cabins.
- A family that wants a suite anyway. Every Disney suite is a Concierge room, so the service comes with the space.
When To Skip Disney Cruise Concierge
- Your kids live in the Oceaneer Club. The youth clubs are included for every guest, and Concierge adds nothing to them.
- You are already Platinum or Pearl. Those tiers book at 120 and 123 days, so the window advantage shrinks to a week or less.
- You are comparing against a second cruise. Price the Concierge premium against a short Disney sailing in a standard verandah. For some families the second trip is the better use of the money.
Disney Cruise Concierge Compared With Other Lines' Suite Programs
Disney's program is lighter on inclusions than its competitors. The Retreat on Celebrity adds a private restaurant and a drink package. MSC Yacht Club and The Haven on Norwegian are enclosed complexes with their own pools and dining. Royal Caribbean's Star Class includes a Royal Genie who handles reservations on the ship. Disney Concierge guests still eat in the same rotational dining rooms as everyone else. What Disney offers that the others cannot is early access to Disney's own experiences, and for a family that wants those, nothing else substitutes.
Disney Cruise Concierge: Frequently Asked Questions
Is alcohol free in the Disney Concierge Lounge? Disney says cocktails are served in the lounge during select hours, and food and nonalcoholic drinks are complimentary through the day. Drinks elsewhere on the ship are charged as usual.
How early can Disney Concierge guests book activities? Concierge guests can submit requests 130 days before sailing. The Concierge team books them when the online window opens at 123 days.
Do Disney Concierge guests get a private restaurant? No. Concierge guests use the same rotational dining rooms as other guests. The lounge serves snacks and light food through the day.
Is the smallest Disney Concierge room worth booking? For most families it is the best value in the program, because it carries the same lounge access, sundeck, and booking window as the suites.
Does Disney Concierge include Wi-Fi? Yes, at the Basic Surf level for one device per guest. Faster plans cost extra.
How To Book Disney Cruise Concierge
Concierge rooms book like any other category, but they are the first to sell out. Decide on Concierge before the sailing opens, book in the first days, and mark day 130 on your calendar. Send me your dates, and I will price Concierge against a standard verandah on the same sailing so you can see the real gap before you commit.
