Is Carnival Faster to the Fun Worth It?
Carnival Faster to the Fun is worth it for a specific kind of cruiser: a family or group in one cabin who wants to be on the ship early, in the room early, and off the ship at a time they pick. For a couple sailing three nights who is happy to arrive mid-afternoon and walk off with their own bags, it is money better spent on a specialty dinner.
The package is priced per stateroom, so the value climbs with every extra person in the cabin. It is also limited on each sailing, and Platinum and Diamond loyalty members already get the same perks, which is the first thing I check before anyone buys it.

What Carnival Faster to the Fun Is
Faster to the Fun, or FTTF if you spend any time in Carnival groups, is a priority add-on you buy for your cabin after booking. It moves you to the front of a few lines that every Carnival cruiser stands in: check-in, the wait for your stateroom to open, the luggage delivery window, tender boats at ports, and the scramble on the last morning.
It does not buy you a better cabin, a drink, or a meal. Think of it as a convenience pass for the first and last day of the cruise, with a couple of perks in between. Carnival lists it on its add-ons page for each sailing, and it shows up in the cruise planner once you are booked.
What Carnival Faster to the Fun Costs in 2026
Carnival prices Faster to the Fun per stateroom, and the price depends on the ship and how long you are sailing. As of October 2026, the add-on page for a Jacksonville sailing showed it starting at $99.95 per cabin, and a Galveston Caribbean sailing showed $109.95 per cabin. Longer sailings and the newest ships sit at the higher end, so check the price on your specific booking before you plan around it.
Because one purchase covers every guest in the cabin, the per-person math changes fast. On a cabin of four, $109.95 works out to roughly $27.50 a person for the whole cruise. On a cabin of two, you are paying twice that per person for exactly the same perks. If you are still pricing the rest of the trip, my breakdown of what a Carnival cruise really costs covers fares, gratuities, and the add-ons that creep onto the folio.
Pro Tip: Faster to the Fun is sold in limited numbers per sailing, and on spring break, summer, and holiday sailings it can disappear well before final payment. If you know you want it, add it the day you book. If it is gone, keep checking the cruise planner, because cancellations sometimes put a few back.
What Carnival Faster to the Fun Includes
Carnival lists seven benefits. Here is how each one plays out on the ship.
| Perk | What it means in practice |
| Priority check-in | A separate priority line at the terminal |
| Early stateroom access | Drop your carry-ons in the cabin before rooms officially open |
| Express luggage | Checked bags are prioritized for delivery to your cabin |
| Guest Services priority | A dedicated phone line and priority help at Guest Services |
| Dining reservations | Priority for main dining and specialty reservations (Your Time Dining excluded) |
| Priority tender boarding | Skip the tender ticket line at ports where the ship anchors |
| Debarkation choice | Pick an early or late time to leave the ship on the final day |
The check-in line and early cabin access are the two perks most people buy it for. Carnival embarkation works in arrival windows, and at busy homeports the general line can be long even when you arrive on time. My embarkation day tips cover the rest of that first-day routine.
The debarkation choice is the sleeper perk. Picking an early slot gets you to the airport sooner, and picking a late slot lets you finish breakfast without being called out of the dining room. My cruise disembarkation guide explains how the last morning normally runs if you skip the package.
Who Already Gets Carnival Faster to the Fun Perks
Before you pay for it, check whether you already have it. Carnival's own add-on page says Platinum and Diamond members do not need to buy the package, because these benefits come with their loyalty status. Carnival Rewards replaced the old VIFP Club on September 1, 2026, so confirm how your tier carried over, and my guide to Carnival Rewards covers how the new tiers work, while my older Carnival loyalty program breakdown explains how most frequent cruisers earned Platinum to begin with.
Suite guests get a large share of the same benefits. Carnival's suite perks include priority check-in at every embarkation port, first access to the stateroom, priority luggage, priority tender boarding, and priority debarkation. The one piece suite guests do not automatically get is the dedicated Guest Services line, which Carnival reserves for Platinum and Diamond members and Faster to the Fun buyers. If you are deciding between a balcony with FTTF and a suite, my comparison of balcony vs. suite cabins walks through what the extra money buys beyond the priority perks.
When Carnival Faster to the Fun Pays Off
I recommend it to my clients who are families with three or four people in one cabin, especially with small children. Getting into the room early means naps, bathroom breaks, and swimsuits happen on your schedule. Splitting the price across four people also makes it one of the cheaper add-ons Carnival sells.
It makes sense on itineraries with tender ports. Priority tender boarding is worth more at a stop where hundreds of people want the same early boat, and on sailings with multiple tender days it starts to earn its price on its own.
It also pays off on large ships like Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and Carnival Jubilee, where boarding volume is highest. My list of Carnival ships by size shows which ships carry the most guests. And it works for anyone with an early flight home who wants a guaranteed early debarkation slot without carrying every bag off the ship.
When to Skip Carnival Faster to the Fun
Skip it if you are Platinum or Diamond, or if you are sailing in a suite, since you would be paying for perks you largely already have.
Skip it if you plan to arrive at the port later in the afternoon. By then the check-in lines are usually short and cabins are open, so the two main perks have little left to do.
Skip it as a couple on a short sailing with no tender ports. In that case you are paying the full per-cabin price for a shorter line on day one, and I would rather put that money toward a steakhouse dinner. I would also skip it if you plan to walk off with your own luggage on the last morning, since self-assist debarkation already gets you off early.
How to Book Carnival Faster to the Fun
Once your cruise is booked, Faster to the Fun appears in the add-ons section of the cruise planner on carnival.com and in the Carnival HUB app. Only one person in the cabin needs to purchase it. If it shows as unavailable, the allotment for that sailing has sold out. When I book a Carnival cruise for my clients, I check FTTF availability at the same time and add it right away if they want it, before the allotment runs short.
If you are comparing priority perks across cruise lines, the higher tiers on other lines bundle far more. My guides to Royal Caribbean's The Key, The Haven on Norwegian, and MSC Yacht Club show what each line sells above the standard cabin, and how much more it costs.
Carnival Faster to the Fun: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Carnival Faster to the Fun cover everyone in my cabin? Yes. It is priced per stateroom, and every guest in that cabin gets the perks. Guests in a second cabin need their own purchase.
Can I buy Carnival Faster to the Fun on the ship? Plan on buying it before you sail. It is sold in limited numbers per sailing, and the perks that matter most happen at the terminal, before you could buy anything onboard.
Does Faster to the Fun get me on the ship before everyone else? It gets you through a priority check-in line. Your actual boarding still depends on when the terminal opens and on your arrival time, so arriving at the very start of your window still helps.
Do Platinum and Diamond members need Faster to the Fun? No. Carnival says those members already receive these and other benefits through their loyalty status.
Is Faster to the Fun worth it on a three-night cruise? For a family of four, usually yes, because the per-person cost is low and the first afternoon is a large share of a short trip. For a couple, I would usually spend the money elsewhere.
Booking Carnival Faster to the Fun With Your Cruise
My pricing is the same as booking direct with Carnival. On top of that, I can often add group rates or promotions that do not show up on Carnival's website, and you have a person to call when a flight cancels or the FTTF allotment sells out. Send me your dates, and I will price the cruise, check Faster to the Fun availability, and add it before it is gone.
