Celebrity Xcite Opens for Booking: Debut Season From Miami and Celebrity's 2028-2029 Caribbean Lineup

Celebrity Cruises opened bookings for Celebrity Xcite on November 3, 2026, and the newest Edge Series ship will spend its debut year on seven-night Caribbean cruises from Miami. The same announcement laid out the full 2028-2029 Caribbean lineup for Celebrity, with ten ships in the region and the first short getaway cruises ever offered on an Edge Series ship.

I book Celebrity every week, and debut seasons on a new Edge ship tend to fill fast at the lower cabin categories. Here is what Celebrity announced, what we know about the ship so far, and how I would approach booking it. If you already know you want to go, I can hold a Celebrity Xcite cabin for you while the debut fares are still on the board.

Celebrity Xcite Itineraries: Seven Nights From Miami

Celebrity Xcite will sail seven-night Caribbean cruises from Miami, rotating through St. Thomas, Antigua, the British Virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Maarten, and the Dominican Republic. Celebrity specifically called out The Baths at Virgin Gorda, the boulder-lined beach and grotto trail in the British Virgin Islands, as a highlight of the rotation.

That port list leans Eastern Caribbean, which is where a seven-night cruise from Miami gives you the most island time. It is also a different mix from most Miami departures, because many of the short cruises from PortMiami stick to the Bahamas. If you have already done Cozumel and Grand Cayman a few times, this rotation is a welcome change. My port guides for St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic cover three of the stops. If you are flying in, my Miami cruise port embarkation guide and hotels near the Miami cruise port will help with the night before.

Celebrity has not published the exact maiden voyage date yet. The winter 2028-2029 sailings are the ones open now, and summer 2028 Caribbean sailings go on sale December 9, 2026.

What We Know About the Celebrity Xcite Ship

Celebrity Xcite is the sixth ship in the Edge Series and the fourth built to the longer design introduced on Celebrity Beyond. That puts it in the same size class as Beyond, Ascent, and Xcel, at about 141,400 gross tons and roughly 3,200 guests at double occupancy. Steel was cut at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in October 2025, the same French shipyard that built every Edge Series ship.

Celebrity has not revealed the new venues for Xcite yet. Based on how the line has handled the last two ships, I expect the Edge Series basics to carry over: the Magic Carpet platform on the side of the ship, Infinite Veranda cabins, the Rooftop Garden, and a large Retreat for suite guests. Celebrity has said Xcite will build on the ideas it introduced on Celebrity Xcel, where The Bazaar replaced Eden with a venue that changes its food and programming to match the destination. I cover the differences between the Edge ships in my Celebrity ships by size guide.

Celebrity's Full 2028-2029 Caribbean Lineup

The Xcite news came with Celebrity's biggest Caribbean season to date. Ten ships will sail the region, and five of them are Edge Series ships. Here is where each one is going.

ShipHomeport2028-2029 Caribbean highlights
Celebrity XciteMiamiSeven-night Eastern Caribbean debut season
Celebrity XcelFort LauderdaleSix- and eight-night ABC Islands and Western Caribbean
Celebrity BeyondFort LauderdaleNine three-night Bahamas getaways, eight- to 11-night Southern Caribbean, six Panama Canal sailings
Celebrity AscentFort LauderdaleNine- to 12-night Southern Caribbean and ABC Islands
Celebrity ApexPort CanaveralEastern and Western Caribbean, including Key West
Celebrity ReflectionFort LauderdaleYear-round six- to eight-night Caribbean
Celebrity EclipseFort Lauderdale11-night Caribbean plus weekend getaways
Celebrity SilhouetteSan Juan (from October)Summer Southern Caribbean, then seven-night sailings with five port days
Celebrity SummitMiamiFour- and five-night cruises, some with Royal Beach Club Paradise Island
Celebrity ConstellationTampaSeven-night Key West, Bahamas, and Western Caribbean

Three parts of this lineup stand out to me. First, Celebrity Beyond will run nine three-night Bahamas getaways from Fort Lauderdale between November 2028 and March 2029, the first short cruises ever scheduled on an Edge Series ship. A long weekend on one of the newest ships in the fleet is an easy sell for couples who have never tried Celebrity. Second, Celebrity Silhouette will spend its first full summer in the Southern Caribbean before shifting to San Juan in October, where its seven-night sailings visit five islands with almost no sea days. Third, Celebrity Summit, Beyond, and Eclipse will call at the new Royal Beach Club Paradise Island on select sailings, which gives Celebrity guests access to Royal Caribbean Group's beach club in Nassau.

Celebrity Beyond is also adding three new venues this month: the Orange Peel Bar and Grille, Tacos del Sol, and Bora. Celebrity Reflection gets 13 new spaces, including the Grand Plaza, in a March 2027 refit.

Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises, said, "The Caribbean is our guests' favorite place to vacation."

Should You Book Celebrity Xcite Now?

For most clients, yes, if you already know you want a debut-season Edge ship. New ships price highest in their first year, but the lowest fares on a brand-new ship are usually the ones available the week bookings open. Balcony and Concierge Class cabins on the seven-night sailings will go first, and suites in The Retreat tend to sell out early on any new Edge ship.

A deposit now also locks in the cabin location while you wait for the venue reveal, and when you plan and book with me I keep checking the fare after you deposit. If you book a refundable fare, you can still change plans up to final payment. My guide to what a Celebrity cruise really costs breaks down how fares, gratuities, and the drink package add up on an Edge ship.

If you would rather wait, the summer 2028 Caribbean sailings open December 9, 2026. Those are often the better value for families, since summer Caribbean fares on Celebrity run lower than holiday weeks in the winter season.

Pro Tip: If you are a Captain's Club member, link your number when you book so the cruise counts toward your next tier. The Celebrity loyalty program rewards repeat cruising more than most guests realize, and an inaugural season cruise is an easy one to remember.
