Disney Believe Reveal: First Sailings, Booking Dates and My Reaction
Disney Cruise Line has filled in most of the blanks on its next ship. The Disney Believe sails her maiden voyage on December 18, 2027 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, and bookings open to the general public on Monday, October 19, 2026.
Disney also revealed the stage shows, restaurants, lounges and suites, including the first stage version of Encanto anywhere. I watched the whole presentation live, and I came away a little disappointed by how much of the ship repeats themes we've already seen on her sisters.
This post covers the first sailings, the booking dates, every venue Disney has announced so far and where I think the reveal fell short.
Disney Believe Reveal Reaction Video
If you're a regular to my YouTube channel, you know I do a full ship tour on every cruise I take. The Disney Believe is still about 14 months from her first sailing, so I streamed the reveal live on the channel. My full reaction is below.

Disney Believe On-Sale Dates and Castaway Club Early Access
General bookings for the Disney Believe open on Monday, October 19, 2026. That date covers the maiden voyage and the rest of the inaugural season.
Disney typically opens new sailings in stages for returning guests in the days before the general on-sale, starting with the highest Castaway Club tiers. If you've sailed with Disney before, your tier decides how early you get in. My Disney Castaway Club guide explains how the four tiers work, and my post on the best time to book a cruise covers how early to lock in a sailing.
Pro tip: Log in to your Disney Cruise Line account before booking week and confirm your Castaway Club tier is showing correctly. Fixing a missing sailing credit can take a phone call, and you don't want to be on hold while inaugural staterooms sell.
As a reminder, Jackson Jetsetting is a full-service travel agency. If you want to be on the Disney Believe during her first season, reach out for a free quote before October 19 and I'll have your dates and stateroom category ready when bookings open.
Disney Believe First Sailings From Port Everglades
The maiden voyage leaves Port Everglades on Saturday, December 18, 2027. From there, the Disney Believe spends her inaugural season on four- and five-night sailings to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
- First sailing: December 18, 2027 from Fort Lauderdale.
- Sailing lengths: Four and five nights.
- Private destinations: Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
- Regions: The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
- On sale: October 19, 2026 for the general public.
Disney hasn't released the sailing-by-sailing schedule yet, including the length and ports of the maiden voyage. I'll add the full list of first sailings to this post as soon as Disney publishes it.
The Disney Destiny gives us a good preview. Her maiden voyage from the same port was a four-night sailing that visited both Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay, and her first season added Nassau and Cozumel on select sailings. I'd expect the Disney Believe to follow a similar pattern.
December 18 falls one week before Christmas, so the first sailings land squarely in the holiday season. In my experience, holiday sailings on a brand-new ship are the hardest dates to get and the most expensive ones on the calendar.
Fort Lauderdale is an easy homeport. The airport is a short ride from the cruise terminals, and I've covered the logistics in my Port Everglades embarkation guide and my post on getting from Fort Lauderdale airport to Port Everglades.
The Disney Believe is the second Wish-class ship in a row to debut from Port Everglades, following the Disney Destiny in November 2025. The Disney Destiny is scheduled to move to Port Canaveral in late November 2027, shortly before her sister arrives. Disney moves ships between homeports as the fleet grows, and I track every new announcement in my cruise ship deployments guide.
Disney Believe Theme and Grand Hall
Disney describes the theme of the Disney Believe as promise and possibility. She's the fourth Wish-class ship, which means the same size and deck layout as the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny with different theming (my guide to Disney ships by size shows where the class fits in the fleet). She's also the last Wish-class ship for Disney Cruise Line before a new class of smaller ships starts arriving in 2029.
The Grand Hall is inspired by Moana, which Disney first showed off at D23 this summer. A statue of Moana with Pua and Heihei anchors the space, the ceiling is scattered with constellations, and the chandelier is modeled after moving water with the heart of Te Fiti hidden inside.
Tinker Bell appears on the bow. On the stern, Woody and Buzz Lightyear are decorating the ship's name with crayons (a fun twist on the usual scene of characters painting the stern).
If you want to see how a Wish-class ship is laid out before you book, my Disney Wish review walks through the same floor plan.
Disney Encanto and the Disney Believe Stage Shows
Each Wish-class ship gets its own headline production. The Disney Treasure has The Tale of Moana and the Disney Destiny has Hercules. The Disney Believe gets Encanto, which is a quick turnaround for a film from 2021. Disney's stage shows at sea used to be reserved for older classics like Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.
- Disney Encanto. The first stage adaptation of Encanto debuts exclusively on the Disney Believe in the Walt Disney Theatre. The show follows Mirabel as she tries to save her family and their magical home, and it uses Lin-Manuel Miranda's songs from the film, including "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "Surface Pressure." The music is great, so I think this one will be very popular.
- Tangled: The Musical. This show comes over from the Disney Magic with a reimagined set design and new special effects.
- Disney Seas the Adventure. The Wish-class original returns with Disney and Pixar characters and a lineup of familiar songs.
The entertainment hub on the Disney Believe is Gazelle, inspired by the city in the Zootopia films. It hosts family activities during the day and adult-exclusive entertainment at night. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde make their Disney Cruise Line debut in a new family show where guests help them solve a case.
The kids clubs carry over from the sister ships: Disney's Oceaneer Club, It's a Small World Nursery, Edge, Vibe and The Hideaway. Disney's Oceaneer Club gets a new entrance inspired by Monstropolis from Monsters, Inc., which is the detail I'm most excited about so far.
Disney Believe Restaurants
Disney Cruise Line uses rotational dining, so your family moves through three main restaurants with the same serving team each night. Two of the three are returning favorites.
- Oaken's Table: A Frozen Family Feast (complimentary, new). Oaken and his cousins host a family reunion in the courtyard of a Scandinavian summer house in the forest. Dinner comes with reimagined versions of songs from the Frozen soundtracks and appearances from Anna and Kristoff. It's the second Frozen dinner show in the fleet, after Arendelle on the Disney Wish, and it tells a different story. I'd expect a different menu too (the Nordic food at Arendelle is really good).
- 1923 (complimentary, returning). Named for the year The Walt Disney Company was founded, with a California-inspired menu and a golden age of animation theme.
- Worlds of Marvel (complimentary, returning). The Marvel dinner show that appears on all three sister ships.
Pro tip: There are three rotational restaurants, so on a four-night sailing you'll repeat one of them. Disney assigns the rotation, and you'll see yours in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you board.
The adult-exclusive venues return as well: Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement and The Rose lounge. Palo and Enchanté carry an extra charge. My guide to what's included on a Disney cruise breaks down what costs extra.
Inside Out: Joyful Sweets also returns with nearly 20 flavors of gelato and ice cream, plus new sculptures of Anxiety and Envy from Inside Out 2.
Disney Believe Lounges, Pubs and Cafes
The names are new, but the spaces will feel familiar if you've sailed a sister ship. Sea Notes fills the same piano lounge spot off the Grand Hall as Nightingale's on the Disney Wish, Skygazers is this ship's version of the pub, and every Wish-class ship has two cafes with their own names.
- Wishing Well. A lounge inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with three distinct areas: a bar styled after the castle with a stained glass centerpiece, a courtyard seating area under white blossoms and red apples, and a performance space framed in hand-carved wood like the Dwarfs' cottage.
- Sea Notes. A piano lounge just off the Grand Hall, inspired by Ariel's grotto from The Little Mermaid. A pearlescent piano sits at the center, and the menu covers cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
- Skygazers. An observatory-themed pub with craft beers, specialty cocktails and light bites. It will also show live sports, so this is where you'll find the game.
- Haunted Mansion Parlor. The returning favorite comes back with a new drink menu.
- Big Hero Sips and Café Kakamora. Two new cafes serving coffee, tea and specialty drinks. The first takes its look from San Fransokyo in Big Hero 6, and the second from the coconut pirates in Moana.
My Disney drink package guide explains how drink pricing works on board.
Disney Believe Repeated Themes and Reveal Disappointment
I went into the reveal hoping for something truly new. There are a few new things on board, but a lot of what Disney showed is a second pass at stories the fleet already tells.
- Oaken's Table. The Disney Wish already has a Frozen dinner show. A new story helps, but I was hoping for something completely new in that space. My first guess was an Encanto restaurant (I love Colombian food), with the stage show as my second guess.
- Inside Out: Joyful Sweets. This is the same sweet shop that's on the Disney Wish right now, with a few characters added from the sequel.
- Moana. The Grand Hall and Café Kakamora follow the Moana-themed Wish Tower Suite on the Disney Wish and The Tale of Moana on the Disney Treasure.
- Tangled: The Musical. The updated effects are welcome, but this show has played on the Disney Magic for years.
- 1923 and Worlds of Marvel. Both restaurants are now on all four Wish-class ships. If you've sailed any of the sisters, two of your three rotational dinners will be familiar.
- Haunted Mansion Parlor. It's been a major hit on the last two ships, and this makes three in a row.
I kept waiting for one big surprise to close the show, the kind of signature venue that gives a ship her own identity. The Disney Wish got Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, and the Disney Treasure introduced Haunted Mansion Parlor. The Disney Believe presentation ended with the Encanto cast, and no surprise venue followed.
There are bright spots. Disney Encanto should be a crowd-pleaser, and the film won me over after a rewatch or two. Sea Notes ties in nicely with the Moana Grand Hall next door, and Skygazers and Wishing Well are new concepts for the fleet.
A Disney vacation at sea is still amazing, and Disney says more details are coming. For now, if you've already sailed the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure or Disney Destiny, I see fewer reasons to pay a first-season premium for the Disney Believe. If this would be your first Wish-class ship, none of the repeats will bother you.
Disney Believe Staterooms and Suites
Standard staterooms feature new papercut-style artwork inspired by Moana, Coco and Inside Out. About 70 percent of staterooms have a verandah, and most have Disney's split-bath layout (a huge help for families getting ready for dinner at the same time).
The ship has more than 450 connecting doors. If you're traveling with grandparents or a larger family, connecting staterooms are often a better value than a suite.
Concierge staterooms are themed to Peter Pan, with several oceanview rooms above the bridge themed to Toy Story. I've written about whether the upgrade pays off in my post on Disney Cruise Line concierge.
At the top end, there are three signature suites:
- Believe Tower Suite. A two-story, 1,966-square-foot suite in the forward funnel that sleeps eight. It's themed to Magic Kingdom, with rooms modeled after the park's lands, light fixtures inspired by fireworks and balloons, and artwork of Cinderella Castle.
- Royal Reef Suite. This suite takes its theme from The Little Mermaid.
- Royal Rose Suite. This one is inspired by Beauty and the Beast.
Connecting staterooms and concierge are usually the first categories to sell on a new Disney ship. If you need either one, send me your dates and I'll help you sort through the options before booking day.
Five Tips I Give Every Client Booking the Disney Believe
- Know your Castaway Club tier before booking week. Early access is the single biggest advantage on a new ship, and it only works if your account is correct.
- Choose a backup sail date. The maiden voyage and the holiday sailings will go first. Have a second and third date ready, along with a second stateroom category.
- Ask for connecting staterooms when you book. More than 450 connecting doors sounds like a lot, but families grab them early. Adding one later rarely works.
- Fly into Fort Lauderdale the day before. December flights get delayed, and the ship won't wait. A hotel night near Port Everglades costs far less than a missed cruise.
- Price a sister ship next to the Disney Believe. New ships usually carry a premium in their first season. If Encanto and Oaken's Table aren't must-haves for your family, the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny share the same layout. The Disney Dream is also scheduled to sail from Fort Lauderdale that December. My Disney cruise cost breakdown and Disney gratuities guide show what to budget either way.
Disney Believe Final Thoughts
The Disney Believe will be a beautiful ship, and Encanto gives her a headline show that families will plan a cruise around. I still wish Disney had taken a few more risks with the fourth ship in the class. The short sailings from Fort Lauderdale make her an easy first Disney cruise, while repeat Wish-class cruisers have a harder decision.
If you're still deciding whether Disney is the right fit, my comparison of Royal Caribbean vs. Disney Cruise Line is a good place to start.
Bookings open to everyone on October 19, 2026, and we'll know a lot more once pricing drops. If you'd like help getting a stateroom, request a free quote and I'll take care of the booking for you.
